Program Note:
Legacies is a work in 3 short movements that is a tribute to Dave Brubeck and my two grandmothers, who all unfortunately passed away in about a two year span. Each movement takes cellular elements from pieces by Brubeck. The piece takes on another level of tribute as I use two patriotic tunes in the outer movements, America (My Country 'tis of Thee) and America the Beautiful, thus paying tribute to my grandmothers and their "Greatest Generation."
